Central Government contributes to cultural well-being in a variety of different ways. Its contribution can be through the provision of guidelines, published research reports and papers, funding for projects, sponsorship or as active partners in projects.

Office of the Controller and Auditor-General / Tumuaki o te Mana Arotake
Together, Audit New Zealand and the OAG work to ensure that New Zealand's public sector is operating for the benefit of all New Zealanders. They help to make sure that taxpayers and ratepayers are getting value for their money.
Office of Treaty Settlements
The Office of Treaty Settlements (OTS) negotiates, on behalf of the Crown, settlement of historical Treaty of Waitangi claims with Maori claimant groups.
The Office is part of the Ministry of Justice.
Pacific Business Development Trust
The Pacific Business Trust is a busy, diverse and dynamic organisation offering business support and advice for small Pasifika businesses. They also encourage young people to see business as a career option and promote links between arts and business.
Radio New Zealand / Te Reo Irirangi o Aotearoa
Radio New Zealand broadcasts over three nationwide networks; Radio New Zealand National, Radio New Zealand Concert and the AM network which relays Parliamentary proceedings. Radio New Zealand International (RNZI) the overseas shortwave service, broadcasts to the South Pacific and beyond, while Radio New Zealand News provides comprehensive, up-to-the-minute news and current affairs information.
Sport and Recreation New Zealand / Ihi Aotearoa
SPARC is a Crown entity with responsibility for promoting, encouraging, and supporting physical recreation and sport in New Zealand. It is dedicated to getting New Zealanders active, involved and winning in sport and recreation. SPARC works with other government agencies and the sport and recreation sector to deliver the wider objectives of the Government.
Statistics New Zealand / Tatauranga Aotearoa
Statistics New Zealand is New Zealand's national statistical office. It administers the Statistics Act 1975, and is the country's major source of official statistics.
The Cultural Statistics Programme is a partnership between the Ministry for Culture and Heritage and Statistics New Zealand and was established to improve the range and quality of information available about New Zealand's cultural sector.

Te Māngai Pāho is a Crown Entity established to make funding available to the national network of Māori radio stations and for the production of Māori language television programmes, radio programmes and music CDs.
National Services Te Paerangi / Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa
National Services Te Paerangi works with museums, galleries, iwi (tribes), and related organisations to enhance museum services and support these to become self-sustaining. Our goal is for museums and iwi to be significantly strengthened by increased participation in our programmes and by working collaboratively at a local and national level.

Te Puni Kōkiri leads Māori Public Policy and advises on policy affecting Māori wellbeing.

Transit New Zealand
Transit New Zealand (Transit) is the Crown Entity responsible for state highways - the strategic roads and motorways that are about 12% (10,894 km) of all New Zealand's roads, but account for about half of the 36 billion vehicle kilometres we travel every year.
Transpower
Transpower owns and operates New Zealand’s high-voltage electricity transmission grid, providing a seamless delivery of bulk electricity to towns, cities and major industries across the country.
Waitangi Tribunal
The Tribunal is a permanent commission of inquiry charged with making recommendations on claims brought by Maori relating to actions or omissions of the Crown that breach the promises made in the Treaty of Waitangi.
