Govett-Brewster’s Contribution to New Zealand Art Honoured by Arts Foundation Award

Presented in an event at Christchurch Art Gallery this award recognises individuals or institutions that have contributed in a significant way to the development of the arts and artists in New Zealand.
The Govett-Brewster is only the third recipient in the award’s history.

New research shows that almost three quarters of those surveyed think that culture and cultural activities are very, extremely or critically important to our sense of national identity.
The report, ‘Cultural Indicators Report for New Zealand 2009’, produced by the Ministry for Culture and Heritage was released today.
