The Recreation and Open Space Plan provides, as a result of extensive research, a clear action plan to guide the management and development of the Franklin District ’s recreation and open space facilities and opportunities.

Franklin District Council has prepared guiding documents to assist in the effective management of growth in the Franklin District.  See the town plans below for our three main town centres - Pukekohe, Tuakau and Waiuku.

The RAD Plan’s vision for the District is: “to provide quality reserves for recreation, sport and amenity which are interlinked by green corridors that provide safe walking and cycling routes while also providing wildlife refuge and sustaining ecological values.”

This plan contributes to six outcomes from the Strategy, these being health, transport, ageing in place, cultural diversity, attitudes and opportunities.

Produced every three years, these 10-year plans must show what the council does and how it will work towards achieving community outcomes - the things the community has told us that they think are important for the city's future and wellbeing.

Liveable community plans are about developing a vision for the long-term future of Auckland city's communities as they grow and change. Input from the community is fundamental to the development of the plan.

As part of its role in the preservation, protection and conservation of valued features of the city's physical environment, the district plan identifies certain individual buildings, groups of buildings, objects and places as being significant and worthy of protection in the public interest.

The Long-term Council Community Plan sets out the Council's plans and objectives for the next 10 years.

This document is about Tomorrow’s Manukau – Manukau Apopo. It represents the aspirations of Manukau’s diverse communities; community outcomes that provide the guidance and inspiration for over 70 local agencies to work together to promote the vision of our future.

In June 2006 Council adopted the Long Term Plan (LTP) 2006–2016. The plan sets the framework for council’s programmes, budgets and financial planning over the next 10 years. It also details how the Council will deliver on the outcomes described in Vision Rodney.

The City Blueprint sets out a framework for managing growth and change in North Shore City over the next 20 years.

This Recreational Cycling Network Plan outlines the intention of North Shore City Council to provide recreational cycling facilities within North Shore’s parks and reserves.

The Council is required to produce and regularly update a Long Term Council Community Plan, which sets out a planning process for 10 years ahead to deliver clear goals that have been agreed between the Council and the Community.

It aims to give our young people, access to all the support services, advice and ideas they need to harness their strengths and make the transition from school to their futures by linking them to the worlds of work, training and education.

This 2006 - 2016 plan is the first LTCCP to be audited under the LGA 2002 and is intended to be a comprehensive statement of the Council's intentions for the next 10 years.
