All local authorities are required by the Local Government Act 2002 to develop Long Term Council Community Plans for their areas.

Nelson's ten year plan is now ready for action. After enthusiastic public consultation and hearings, rigorous deliberation, and the OK from Audit NZ, Council has adopted the 2006-2016 Long Term Council Community Plan or LTCCP.

The Community Plan (also known as the Long-Term Council Community Plan, or LTCCP) is a 10-year plan for the New Plymouth District. It sets out a detailed plan for the first three years, and an outline for the remaining seven years.

In 2003 Taranaki's four councils commissioned research to identify those issues that Taranaki people see as important for their future from health, education and crime and culture to the environment, our infrastructure and the economy.

Long Term Council Communtiy Plan.

In 2002, the legislation guiding how councils work changed. One of the main changes requires councils to promote community well-being. To do this, councils must work with their communities to identify community outcomes and priorities. The Buller District Council undertook this process during 2005.

This document outlines the activities of the Buller District Council for the next ten years. The plan aims to show how these activities will assist the people of the Buller district meet their long term community goals and objectives.

The 2006 - 2016 Long Term Community Outcomes Plan was adopted by Council 26 June 2006, with the first year of the plan representing the 2006/07 Annual Plan.

Council focuses its strategic planning for our district on the outcomes identified by our community.  In order to ensure optimum success in achieving these outcomes, Council's operations are structured based on the outcomes.  The identification of outcomes by the community is therefore a most important process and deserves the widest possible input.

Community Outcomes are all about the state of the region for the next generation to live, work and play in.  If we want to create the best future we can for them, we need to have a clear vision so we can work towards it.

Environment Canterbury's Community Plan sets the direction for the council's planning for activities over the next 10 years. The plan reflects the significant challenges that the region is facing in sustainable environmental management, particularly in relation to water and air resources. The plan is based on regional community outcomes which have been identified in conjunction with other organisations and agencies with a stake in Canterbury's future. The outcomes consider the social, economic, environmental and cultural well-being of the community and reflect local priorities.

These are the outcomes that the Canterbury community has decided are a priority in terms of the present and future social, economic, environmental and cultural well-being of the community.

The 3 yearly preparation of the Long Term Council Community Plan (LTCCP) is a cornerstone of the accountability requirements of the Local Government Act 2002.

This plan covers a period of ten years. It details the activities of Council, sets out performance targets, and provides financial estimates for the ten year period.
