Community Group Grants have been established by Waitaki District Council to assist not-for-profit organisations based in the Waitaki District with projects/programmes/services or activities that benefit the community.

The Creative Communities Scheme is a relationship between Creative New Zealand and local authorities, and supports opportunities for New Zealanders to participate in the arts in their local area.

The Vision of this Physical Activity Strategy is:

The SPARC Rural Travel Fund is a relationship between SPARC and local authorities and has been developed in response to concerns about the lack of participation in sport by young people living in rural communities.

This is Waitaki's first walking and cycling strategy. The strategy complements and enhances the valuable walking and cycling opportunities that are currently available.

The Waitaki Heritage Fund was established by the New Zealand Historic Places Trust and the Waitaki District Council in 1992 (replacing the North Otago Heritage Fund), to provide a fund to encourage the retention, preservation, conservation and maintenance of historic buildings and sites in the Waitaki District.

The Waitangi Day fund is to support events which commemorate the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi and promote nation building and community building. It is designed to encourage a wider spread of communities participating in Waitangi Day events.

The Tribunal is part of the Ministry of Justice.

When presented with a claim, the Waitangi Tribunal has to decide whether, on the balance of probabilities, that claim is well founded. The Tribunal reports its findings and makes its recommendations in writing: in accordance with the Treaty of Waitangi Act 1975.  A full list of reports can be found here.

The Waitomo District Long Term Council Community Plan 2006-2016 (incorporating the Annual Plan 2006/2007) was adopted by Council on 27th June 2006.

The WDC Archives comprises the historical records of the District Council and the local authorities which preceded it in the Wanganui District. Dating from the beginnings of local government in 1862 up to the present day, the archival records document the growth of the town and surrounding area.

This Strategy has been developed by the Wanganui District Council Youth Committee and will act as a resource to guide the Committee's role in relation to Council and the wider community, to clarify their desired actions and to further promote a ‘youth for youth' approach. It will be anchored at all times by a desire to ‘continue to support the youth of Wanganui'.

This strategy has been developed to promote positive attitudes to ageing in Wanganui, so that by 2010 older adults are enabled to be as informed, active, healthy and independent as possible, and be the heart of the community.
