The award is designed to promote and encourage the use, benefits and presentation of native plants in an urban setting. Its aim is to recognise gardens that demonstrate a notable contribution to Christchurch's natural heritage and biodiversity. These gardens will also contribute to the wider landscape and the city's international reputation for diverse gardens.
