Cultural well-being strategies and policies

The Community Services Strategy aligns community outcomes and Council's strategic objectives with the activities carried out by Community Services Group and sets a framework for these activities.

Active Auckland is the council's recreation plan, addressing sport and physical activity in Auckland. This plan will focus the council's energy and resources to tackle challenges and help achieve our aim of Aucklanders being more active more often.

We recognise that we have a responsibility to our communities to provide active recreation opportunities as part of our commitment to community well-being.  This report reviews the Council’s role in active recreation over the last 10 years, and identifies the issues facing the District Council in achieving improved physical activity outcomes for its community.

Physical Activity Strategy for Wanganui

The creation of a community based vision and an opportunity for individuals to have a direct input into shaping the future of their town.

There are many stories to tell in The Catlins. Interpretation aims to tell some of these stories in ways that are relevant to the visitor.  Interpretation panels and offsite interpretation will assist in educating visitors on the appropriate behaviour while visiting the many sites within the Catlins and give them a sense of being part of preserving this unique area. 

The Interpretation Plan provides a framework for the interpretation of the Catlins for the 10 years 2007-2017.
